Bring Sankofa Rising to Your School

Sankofa Rising is preparing to launch safe, structured, and supportive after-school programming for students in Trinidad and Tobago.

 

We are currently gathering interest from parents and guardians who would like to receive more information, be notified when a site becomes available, or request that Sankofa Rising explore bringing programming to their child’s school.

 

This is not an enrollment form.

 

At this stage, we are collecting expressions of interest so we can better understand family needs, identify potential school sites, and follow up with parents as program locations are confirmed.

What Is Sankofa Rising?

Sankofa Rising provides after-school care designed to help students feel safe, supported, and prepared for success — academically, socially, emotionally, and in life.

Our program is built around the hours after school when many children need structure, supervision, encouragement, and positive guidance. We aim to create a calm, caring environment where students can complete homework, receive academic support, build confidence, develop life skills, and connect with trusted adults.

What Parents Can Expect

While final details may vary by school site, Sankofa Rising after-school programming is designed to include:

  • Safe, Supervised After-School Care

    • Students are cared for in a structured environment with responsible adult supervision, clear routines, and consistent expectations.

  • Homework & Academic Support

    • Students receive time and guidance to complete homework, strengthen study habits, and build confidence in their learning.

​​

  • Executive Function & Life Skills

    • Students practice organization, planning, focus, communication, problem-solving, and other skills that support success in school and beyond.

​​

  • Mentorship & Positive Guidance

    • Students are supported by caring adults who encourage responsibility, resilience, self-worth, and healthy decision-making.

​​

  • Cultural Grounding & Belonging

    • Sankofa Rising is rooted in the belief that children thrive when they understand who they are, where they come from, and what they are capable of becoming.

  • Enrichment, Movement & Creativity

    • Programming may include creative activities, movement, leadership development, reflection, and other enrichment opportunities depending on the site.

Who Is This For?

This interest form is for parents and guardians who are interested in:

  • Signing up to receive updates about Sankofa Rising after-school care

  • Being notified when a program site opens

  • Expressing interest in a site at their child’s current school

  • Learning more about cost, schedule, safety procedures, and program availability

  • Helping Sankofa Rising understand demand in their school community

 

You may complete this form whether or not your child’s school currently has a Sankofa Rising site.

Program Availability

Sankofa Rising does not yet have active school sites open for enrollment.

We are currently speaking with schools, families, and community partners to determine where after-school programming is most needed and where a pilot site may be possible.

By completing this form, you are helping us understand parent interest and identify schools where families may want this type of support.

Submitting this form does not guarantee enrollment, reserve a space, or confirm that a program will open at your child’s school. It simply lets us know that you are interested and would like more information.

Parent interest is an important part of helping us determine where to begin conversations with schools. If there is strong interest from multiple families at the same school, Sankofa Rising may reach out to school leadership to explore whether a future program site is possible.

What Happens After You Submit the Form?

After you submit your interest form:

  1. Sankofa Rising will record your interest and your child’s school.

  2. We may contact you with follow-up questions or updates.

  3. If your child’s school becomes a potential site, we may share more information about the program model, schedule, cost, and next steps.

  4. When enrollment becomes available, interested parents will receive a separate enrollment form and full program details.
